Maths and Physics for Pilots

Simple arithmetic is all that we use daily. A practical understanding of physics, geometry and trigonometry are helpful. Vectors, Geometry, distance conversions, speed, calculating distance, time, speed.

E6B calculators, both electronic and mechanical, are used for solving the effect of winds on an airplane, and other relevant computations.

You do not need to be an expert and genious in mathematics to become a pilot. Most of the calculations are done by computers but you should be prepared to do your own calultions if the computer fails.

But one should have hand-leg-eye coordinations as this is what is tested in most of the pilot aptitude tests. I have seen people who pass written test in maths and physics but fail in Pilot Aptitude Test
